WESTERN’S ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE (WESL) INSTITUTE
In the heart of the Midwest United States, Western Illinois University (WIU) is located in the town of Macomb. WIU was established in 1899 and is an accredited institution that provides a peaceful, safe community for students from more than 68 countries to study and learn.
Western’s English as a Second Language Institute is CEA accredited and offers students an opportunity to learn in a supportive environment and provides individual attention to each student in a friendly atmosphere. The program is designed for students’ success academically, socially, and culturally. Three levels cover reading, writing, listening, speaking, and grammar. Students who successfully complete the program are then able to enroll in one of WIU’s 65 undergraduate or 37 graduate degree programs.
